Greenway Seedling mix (GSM)
Developed in the early 1970’s by a pioneer in plug production, GSM, is a superior quality germination media. The makers of GSM are still growing plugs, and put more than three decades of plug growing experience and expertise into every bag of GSM.
Greenway Ellepot Mix (GEM)
A coarser version of GSM developed specifically for the Ellepot propagation system, more porosity and aeration make it ideal for larger plug trays too.
GSM comes in 18% or 24% perlite formulations and is available with GreenCare's 2-5-15 soil nutrient charge that contains 100% of the nitrogen in nitrate form. All mixes incorporate Blackmore’s exclusive even-release lime, specially designed to help raise/control pH, while avoiding rapid changes in pH readings.

GEM Greenway Ellepot Mix, a coarser version of 18% AGLC, ideal for Ellepots and larger celled plug trays (84’s, 105’s 128’s, 144’s, 200’s etc.)
Most growers find that one formulation will work well for all crops. However, because we make several different formulations, you can mix and match to give you the best results. Choose either 18% or 24% perlite content depending on how you water or for growing “moist” or “dry” crops. You may elect to be crop specific on the soil nutrient charge or lime rates. Adjust the perlite levels depending on the crop, (eg. 24% for vinca and petunia to keep them drier), and time of year. For low light conditions, consider the drier mix. As spring irrigation demands increase, switch to 18%.
